A million stars
Your first bivouac in the Pyrenees
Have you ever dreamed of sleeping under the open sky, wrapped in mountains, with nothing above you but a canopy of stars? This is your chance to feel like part of the Pyrenees for one night. Perfect for beginners curious about bivouacking, but with the safety and support of a professional guide. No prior experience needed and gear rental available. Because there’s a first time for everything… and this one will stay with you forever!

TU VIAJE, AL DETALLE
You’ll explore the stunning glacial lakes of the Posets-Maladeta Nature Park and its wild western side: the vast Val de Chistau, your gateway to true high-mountain terrain.
You’ll experience your very first bivouac in the Pyrenees, sleeping under the stars in complete freedom. To ensure the best possible adventure, the exact bivouac spot is chosen according to weather, season, visitor flow, and mountain conditions.
You’ll also enjoy the warm Chistabín hospitality at Viadós hut, a mountain hut that’s kept its soul intact since it opened nearly 70 years ago.
You’ll return to civilization with the feeling you’ve lived something big and you’ll bring home new skills and memories that will inspire your next adventure. That’s the spirit of the microadventures of Lardana Expeditions.

Program
Welcome and briefing
At 7:30 PM, we’ll hold a brief briefing in San Juan de Plan (Chistau, Spain) to quickly go over the route for the coming days, make final checks on the bikes and gear, and take the opportunity to get to know each other.
♦ If you need accommodation for this day or a transfer from a nearby train station or airport (Barcelona, Zaragoza, Bilbao, Tarbes, or Toulouse), please let us know in the contact form.
Stage 1: into the Posets-Maladeta Natural Park
The magical sunset of Viadós
Our adventure kicks off with a 4×4 route through a winding forest track. From there, a short trek leads us to one of Posets-Maladeta’s hidden gems: a pristine glacial lake shimmering with crystal-clear waters, cradled by towering peaks that seem to touch the sky at nearly 3000 meters. Then, we’ll journey back by 4×4 to the welcoming Viadós hut, where the warmth of its keepers and a hearty mountain dinner await. Rest up well for tomorrow!
Stage 2: ¡Time to bivouac!
A night beneath a million stars
After an energising breakfast, we’ll shoulder our packs — now packed with all we need for a night in the wild. We’ll set off on a spectacular circular route, hiking under some of the tallest three-thousanders in the Pyrenees. We’ll choose our camp spot, set up our bivouac, and you’ll learn everything you need to feel comfortable and safe sleeping out in the wild. Dinner cooked on a small stove as the sun sets will taste like a reward in itself… and when night falls, your reward will be the warmth of your sleeping bag and a sky so clear and star-filled you’ll never forget it.
Stage 3: minitrek complete, back to civilisation
Breakfast amidst peaks
As the sun rises, we’ll pack up our “bedroom under the stars”, finish our hike, and head back down to the valley in our 4×4. Before you leave, we highly recommend a well-deserved Chistabín meal at one of the local restaurants. You’ll go home with a backpack full of stunning memories, new skills, and a craving for your next adventure under a million stars. Your second bivouac in the Pyrenees is already calling!
