The adventure begins where the road ends

How many times have you dreamed of jumping on a bike and exploring the unexplored? How often have you thought you’d need tons of experience – or the legs of Miguel Induráin – to pull it off? In this exclusive microadventure, we bring the world of bikepacking closer to mere mortals. All made possible by the magic of e-bikes: MTB or gravel – you choose the ride, the Pyrenees do the rest.

    Program

    Welcome and briefing

At 7:30 PM, we’ll hold a brief briefing in Castejón de Sos to quickly go over the route for the coming days, make final checks on the bikes and gear, and take the opportunity to get to know each other.

♦ If you need accommodation for this day or a transfer from a nearby train station or airport (Barcelona, Zaragoza, Bilbao, Tarbes, or Toulouse), please let us know in the contact form.

Stage 1: Castejón de Sos – La Comuna

    A ride to the past

    + 1600 m | – 1300 m | 43 km

We set off early from Castejón de Sos heading south to begin this magnificent bikepacking route in the Pyrenees. We’ll leave the Benasque Valley through one of its most hidden corners, the Barbaruéns Valley. The imposing Armeña glacial cirque will stand watch as we venture into the wild lands of Val de Chistau. After reaching our first mountain pass, a long descent awaits us down to the village of Plan, where we’ll then have to ascend again to reach the village of Chistén and continue through “Feneplán” to the Sin hostel. Make sure your phone battery is fully charged—neither the villages nor the views will leave you indifferent.

Stage 2: Chistau, land of giants

    The Pyrenees' best broadcast

    + 1400 m | – 100 m | 36 km

Yes, we know part of your heart has stayed behind in La Comuna, but the expedition must go on. We’ll set off toward the Collado de la Cruz de Guardia to enjoy the views of the neighbouring Bielsa Valley; the Ordesa and Monte Perdido National Park will greet us with the first light of dawn. Afterwards, a long descent down to the banks of the Cinqueta river will take us back to a time when life moved slowly among meadows, mountain huts, and dizzying cliffs. Finally, we’ll follow the river back up to reach one of the Pyrenees’ finest spots: the Viadós hut and its warm hospitality.

Stage 3: the big ride around the valley

    High-altitude breakfast and afternoon snack

    + 1200 m | – 2000 m | 47 km

After a delicious refuge breakfast, under the watchful gaze of stickers and pennants left by intrepid climbers of days gone by, we’ll prepare to leave the valley — but not before embarking on a truly spectacular panoramic ride around the mountain of San Juan de Plan. The breathtaking views, the beauty of the landscape, and the lingering scent of tradition in the air will make you fall in love with the Pyrenees forever. But hold on! It doesn’t end there. As the grand finale of this bikepacking route, a wonderful afternoon snack and an epic sunset await you at the highest point of the journey, just before the final descent back to Castejón de Sos.
